PART II The Workshop Information
Please choose the workshop(s) to which you are applying, ranking them in order of preference, #1 being most desirable --please
do not indicate any workshop you are not really interested in attending.

PART III   Submitting Your Manuscript

To Complete your Application, you need to upload your documents to an email. The writing sample should represent the genre in
which you are applying as follows:

  •        For Poetry                              10-15 pages of poetry
  •        For Fiction                              10-20 pages of fiction writing
  •        For Memoir                            20 pages of memoir work Or fiction based on real stories
  •        For The Masters Seminar in Screenwriting
                                                  15 pages of writing, plus 3 pages of the true story ideas that you'd like to make into a screenplay
  •        For The Masters Intensive in Political Content in Poetry, Story And Memoir
                                                  15 pages of writing in any genre
  •        For The Residency               15 pages of writing in any genre

Please observe The maximum pages for your writing sample. Use a traditional font, 12 point and double-spacing unless you have special
effects in your work.
It is important that you name the file with your name in the title-- for instance "Hughespoetry.doc", garveymemoir.
rtf, or "baldwinmemoir.pdf" Attach your work to the email as an .doc, .rtf or a .pdf; copy yourself so you have a receipt of the work. If
you are applying for both weeks, please upload all relevant manuscripts to the same email.

Remember these are your application manuscripts only, you will have an opportunity after acceptance to upload the work for the
workshop.

Your application is not considered complete until you email the manuscript and pay the application fee.
Financial Aid: We have a small amount of support for participants at the workshop. Please include a letter in the application materials
that indicates your need for support. In addition we are willing to supply information if you are seeking support elsewhere. Please upload
the letter as a .rtf or .pdf with your name in the title of the document. Distinguish it from your manuscript by putting aid in the document
title, such as morrisonaid.pdf.

The application deadline is April 7, 2008--only completed applications are eligible for review--please contact us for late applications.
Participants are notified of their acceptance by the end of April and have ten days to confirm their attendance. Mansucripts to be used in
the workshp will be uplaoded to the virtual classroom site by May 15, 2008. All fees are due by May 30, 2008.
