Orientation starts with a community meeting. We get to know each other and our workshop groups, tour the campus, check into our rooms. Everyone participates in writing poems of identity and purpose for the week.
MONDAY & TUESDAY
The workshops begin. All classes have 10 or fewer participants so each person's work gets attention. In the afternoon, the writers have special private time with their teachers. In the lounge the students start their personal collages.
WEDNESDAY
The Masters Suites kick off in the morning with a well known master teacher. In the afternoon, we have an interactive seminar on publishing or performing with faculty and specialists in the field.
THURSDAY
Class photographs are taken in the day. In the evening, the faculty present their reading, open to the public. It's always a full house.
FRIDAY
The grand finale! The writers celebrate with a pot luck dinner and a reading. Our Director, Diem Jones, calls out those who have not completed their collages.
SATURDAY
The ending of an awesome week. The Writers gather to strike the collage gallery. Each writer makes a commitment to future endeavors and accomplishments in their work.
