What Happens in a VONA Week
Orientation starts with a
community meeting. We
get to know each other
and our workshop
groups, tour the campus,
check into our rooms.
Everyone participates in
writing a poems of
identity and purpose for
the week
Sunday


The workshops begin. All
classes have 10 or fewer
participants so each
person's work gets
attention. In the
afternoon, the writers
have special private time
with their teachers. In
the lounge the students
start their personal
collages.
Monday
& Tuesday

The Masters Suites kick off in the morning
with a well-known master teacher. In the
afternoon, we have an interactive seminar on
publishing or performing with faculty and
specialists in the field.
Wednesday


Class photographs are taken in the day.
In the evening, the faculty present their
reading, open to the public. It's always a full
house
Thursday


The grand finale! The writers celebrate with a pot luck
dinner and a reading. Our Director, Diem Jones, calls out
those who have not completed their collages
.
Friday


the ending of an awesome week. The Writers
gather to strike the collage gallery. Each writer
makes a commitment to future endeavors and
accomplishments in their work.
